Wands At The Ready: Monica and Vicky's Potter Post Flashbacks
What we've blogged about so far!
The Fantastic Beasts And Where to Find Them sequel The Crimes of Grindelwald is just six months away from its premiere in theatres. With two official trailers and a handful of high res photos teasing the return of certain characters (Credence?!) and the debut of new but familiar faces (Jude Law’s young!Dumbledore) this Hufflepuff is stoked to see what happens next. Wizard circuses? The notorious Leda Lestrange? The story set in Paris? Yes yes and YES.
I’ll save you the trouble of turning to page 394: back in February my blogger bestie Monica and I teamed up to celebrate and countdown the Crimes of Grindelwald release with our Wands At The Ready collab. My time-turner is broken and Monica has had oodles of muggle obligations - marrying a muggle and holding a job in the muggle world is a full-time commitment no matter how brilliant the witch and Monica is all-caps BRILLIANT -- so our posts have been few and far between. But I’m here to banish any doubts. This collab isn’t even close to being over. Be sure to continue popping over to Monica’s PopCornerReviews and here on VickyHeartsTV to see our exclusive Potterriffic content-- DIYs, recipes, best of lists, Instagram features and MORE.

You don’t have to break out your potions kit to brew up a memory draught, to remember all of the previous posts we put up. With a quick wand twirl and Priori Incantatem chant, I’ll summon all the Potterhead posts right here!
Howler DIY
Breakfast begins with a bang when Ron receives a smouldering, scarlet envelope the morning of his first day as a Second year in HP & The Chamber of Secrets. That whole taking the enchanted Ford Anglia for a joy ride? Never mind the barrier to Platform 9 and ¾ sealing itself and preventing Ron and Harry from taking their seats on the Hogwarts Express. Mrs. Weasley is SO not having Ron’s recklessness. Monica shows you how to make your own Howler and mystify muggles with your own crafting prowess!
Hogwarts Mystery Review
Every shade of Potterhead and Potter fan has heard of this buzzy new game. The hype has been unreal and even though it's been released at the end of April it's still a must-play for Potter lovers. I go over the awesome and not so awesome elements of Hogwarts Mystery in this review. Creating your own avatar and being the hero of your own Hogwarts journey while trying to solve the mystery of your dark arts dabbling brother's disappearance is enticing and enchanting. There are some drawbacks to the mechanics of Portkey Games and Jam City's free game, namely an issue with "energy" and pointless time limits and not-so-subtle attempts to make players pay real money to have a better gaming experience. But for the most part this portable Hogwarts is addictive and escapist fun.

Pygmy Puff DIY
Ravenclaw crafting queen Katja (Troll.In.The.Dungeons on Instagram) shares how easy it is to make your own fluffy and cuddly Pygmy Puff. If you’ve ever been envious of Ginny Weasley’s beloved ‘puff Arnold, or been unable to make it all the way to Weasleys Wizard Wheezes in Diagon Alley this delightful DIY makes it a cinch to adopt your own miniature Puffskein!
Interview with Monica
Who says Slytherins and Hufflepuffs can’t hit it off and share the friend and fandom love?! Monica spills the (Bertie Bott’s every flavour ) beans in this interview about what the Harry Potter series means to her and what she’s concocting for Wands At the Ready.
It’s MimOsa, Not MimosAAAH: Doing Brunch Hogwarts Style
One of Monica’s most wicked blog posts is all about throwing together your own Harry Potter brunch. There’s an entire chamber worth of secrets --games! decorating tips! iconic food and drink from the wizarding world!-- of how to host a little corner of Hogwarts in your own house. You don’t have to be an heir of Slytherin to bake sorting hat cupcakes, whip up butterbeer and set up an Azkaban inspired photo booth (Dementor free, promise!).
Potterverse Treats and Sweets
I put together three recipes for baked goods inspired by the Wizarding World in this post. Chai spiced sugar cookies that would be served alongside tea at Madam Puddifoot’s cozy tea shop in Hogsmeade; triple chocolate fudge brownies that are most definitely a Mrs. Weasley staple for the holidays (and all those care packages she sends by owl post during the Hogwarts term!); and cruelty free choco-nutty bars that celebrate Dobby the free elf!
Magical Decor: Harry Potter Table Runner
Spreading the love doesn’t have to be limited to Valentines day! Although inspired by the day of loooove Monica’s table runner DIY is swoon-worthy enough to use all year round. Whether you have a Cricut or not it’s simple enough to craft with colorful thick scrapbook paper, glue or a hot glue gun and fabric. Love Harry Potter? Always!
Monica Interviews Me!
Over on Popcorner Reviews, I geek out over my love for Hufflepuff house and the Potterverse. Besides teasing what’s to come in our collab and chattering on about all the feels I have for the Fantastic Beasts films I (spoiler alert) reveal what it takes to make me pee my pants and how I’d fare as a Triwizard Tournament champion! You can see what my badger babe booty has to say about Wands At The Ready and more on that post.
